Aaron Watwood moved to Athens in 2005 to attend the University of Georgia as an engineering student. After graduating in 2008 with a BS in Biological Engineering, Aaron worked as a project engineer for a small civil firm for five years. He completed a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Duke University in 2012, earned his Georgia Professional Engineering license in 2013 and completed an MS in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2014. Aaron has taught at the College of Engineering at UGA and currently oversees the Environmental Engineering Technology program at Athens Technical College. He became a licensed Georgia REALTOR in 2016 and was awarded “New Face of the Year” by the Athens Area Association of REALTORS for 2017.
Aaron grew up in Augusta, GA, where his family renovated multiple homes, cultivating an understanding of home construction, style and functionality. Aaron and his wife Sara (UGA 2008, BA in Marketing) have renovated three homes in Athens and have a keen vision for the potential of Athens homes. They share a love of older homes and enjoy seeing the imprint new owners make on historic properties. They have lived in Winterville, Five Points, Normaltown and the westside Kingswood subdivision. Their combined tenure of 25 years in the Classic City has developed an in-depth knowledge of Athens and its surrounding market.
Aaron, Sara and their three daughters currently reside in the Historic District of Winterville, where Aaron serves on the Historic Preservation Commission for Winterville. They are active members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church downtown. Aaron works with his wife to list and find their clients’ dream homes. They have a great passion and tenacity for real estate and go above and beyond to exceed their clients’ expectations.
