Jen grew up in Alabama before earning a bachelor’s degree in education from Mississippi State University. She taught high school biology in Mississippi and then in DeKalb County, GA. Good fortune (and a new career for her husband) brought Jen to Athens with her husband and son in 2014, and they absolutely love it here! After spending two years as a stay-at-home mom, Jen decided to start a new career in a field she had always found interesting: real estate!
Jen lives with her family on a five-acre homestead just outside of Athens. She enjoys gardening, keeping a backyard flock of chickens and a couple of goats, and trying to live simply. When not selling homes or homesteading, she can usually be found pursuing outdoor activities such as hiking or biking, climbing at Active Climbing, or dining at local restaurants. She is an active member of St Gregory the Great Episcopal Church, where she serves on the Inreach Committee, the Search Committee, and Parish Life. She is also a member of the Ladies Homestead Gathering of Athens. Jen’s passion for helping others has led her to volunteer with the Athens Area Homeless Shelter and The Sparrow’s Nest, and she and her husband serve as foster parents.
Now that Jen works in real estate, she is able to use her previous experiences to help her clients. She employs her teaching skills when helping clients navigate the often-complicated process of buying or selling. Through the renovation of her own homes, Jen has developed an eye for simple, high-impact improvements that help sellers increase curb appeal and buyers envision the home of their dreams.
Jen enjoys working with both buyers and sellers. When working with buyers, Jen is dedicated to finding a home they love while staying within budget. With her sellers, she uses a natural flair for marketing to engage potential buyers. She especially enjoys helping clients who have previously experienced the frustration of an expired listing. If you are looking for a details-oriented realtor who communicates with you frequently, give Jen a call!
