A native of Dublin, GA, Sam and his family decided to finally put down roots in Athens in 2016. After graduating from Furman University in 2005 as a standout baseball player, Sam began his professional career as an educator and coach in his hometown. After several years, his love for adventure and outdoors took him to SW Colorado to continue his career as an elementary school principal. During his free time, Sam spent most of his days exploring the wilderness chasing elk with his bow and trout with his fly rod. In 2011, Sam served as the President of the local Trout Unlimited chapter and was featured in Field & Stream magazine. It was that year that he reconnected with his now wife, Katie. (If you want to hear their story, just ask!) So after many Western adventures together, Sam and Katie moved back East to Hendersonville, NC in 2012. It didn’t take long for Sam to propose and they were married the following summer.

 

While teaching and coaching in NC, he and Katie welcomed their first child, Tucker Jane. So as the family grew, they realized it was time to make their way to the Classic City! Sam met local business owner Chad Collins of Bone Dry Roofing Company, and accepted a role in commercial sales. Sam brings a fun and genuinely passionate attitude to everything he does and focuses on excellent customer service.

 

After meeting Ceci in the LEAD Athens program in 2019, Sam was determined to pursue his real estate license. His relentless drive, sharp negotiation skills, and eagerness to serve others provide the perfect combination for the industry. Sam and Katie have three children: Tucker Jane (4), Price (2), and Caroline (6 months). They are very active members at Watkinsville Baptist Church and volunteer in the nursery. Sam serves as an Ambassador for the Athens Chamber of Commerce and on the Advisory Council for the United Way Oconee.
